Questions & Answers

My cat seems very lethargic today. She didn’t eat breakfast, and I found her in a corner of my apartment she normally doesn’t go to for comfort. What’s wrong with her?

When cats don’t eat, it usually means that they really don’t feel good.  They shouldn’t go more than 2 days without eating, they can become dehydrated very quickly.  If she isn’t doing her normal routine we need to see her.  Cats tend to hide and/or sleep in different areas than they normally do when they aren’t feeling well.  They also don’t show signs or symptoms until they are really sick.  There are many different things that could be wrong such as a fever, infection, or viral.  We would start with an exam and possibly labwork to check her white blood cell count and to see if she anemic.  Please contact any of our locations to schedule an appointment.
