What is a safe flea treatment for rabbits?
The safest flea treatments for rabbits are Advantage (original formula, NOT Advantix) and Revolution. Advantage can be used monthly and is available over-the-counter. Revolution is also a treatment for intestinal parasites and ear mites in rabbits, but for fleas it can sometimes only last for 1-2 weeks in rabbits with severe infestations. In some cases, we will use Comfortis (an oral prescription flea product labeled for use in dogs) but the drug doses are not as extensively tested.
