Meet Master Splinter!
Master Splinter is looking for a home!
Temple Terrace Animal Hospital has been working with this special little guy and he finally has clearance to be adopted! He has such a great personality.
Splinter came into our rescue in June, after being left behind by his mom outside. When he arrived, we immediately knew he was a special boy in personality and looks. Splinter has been diagnosed with congenital issues that affect his eyes, knees, and gut. When you look at Splinter you can notice one eye that is too big and the other is small, with this he has very little eye sight, but has great light perception. There is a chance in the future his larger eye may need to be removed if it grows or starts to be painful, however there are no signs of that at this time. He has been seen by an amazing vet team including an ophthalmologist and cardiologist. For his stomach issues, he is doing much better now that he is on a special food that is easier on his stomach – he will likely need to be on this prescription food for the rest of his life.
Through Splinter’s treatments the vets have observed a grade 4 heart murmur – he has had an echocardiogram and has no signs of heart disease. In addition, Splinter was diagnosed with subluxing patella in both his hind legs and he has had surgery to correct this.
With all of this in mind, do not let it fool you – he is one happy, playful, goofy and energetic boy! He loves playing with toys (especially ones that make noise so he can track them), crawling up in your lap to have a purr/love fest and sitting by windows to watch the shadows. He has been around cats, dogs and kids and enjoys the company.
Splinter needs a special adopter to step up and give him a life of love and special attention. Once you meet him, his larger-than-life personality, will have him wrapped around your finger in no time! Will you be his hero?
