Dr. Holly Dutton is originally from Montgomery, Alabama. She graduated with honors from Loveless Academic Magnet Program High School before attending Auburn University. Dr. Dutton graduated from Auburn in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Zoology. She then continued her education at Ross University where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical and surgical training at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Dutton was in the top 10% of her class in veterinary school, graduating with honors.
While in veterinary school, Dr. Dutton conducted research involving the immune response to Klebsiella pneumoniae in non-human primates and her findings were published in the Veterinary Microbiology journal in 2015: Resistance of Klebsiella pneumonia to the innate immune system of African green monkeys.
Dr. Dutton also has a passion for veterinary dermatology and was published as a contributor to the dermatology section of the of Blackwell’s Five-Minute Veterinary Consult: Canine and Feline, Sixth Edition
Dr. Dutton moved to Tampa in 2014 with her husband, Clay Dutton, who is also a veterinarian and a Tampa native.
Dr. Dutton’s professional interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and oncology as well as furthering her training in ultrasound diagnostics.
Dr. Dutton and her husband share their home with their new son, Pierce, and their two dogs, Piper and Boone. In her spare time, Dr. Dutton enjoys spending time with her son, going to the beach, and running with her dogs. Dr. Dutton and her husband also make frequent trips to Auburn, Alabama to visit family and catch as many Auburn football games as they can.
