Brandi’s Story

“I knew a puppy was going to be a big commitment and luckily my husband works from home, making it easier to spend the time Grimm needs for training and socializing. 

We decided 8 months before we got Grimm to add a puppy to the family.  We spent a lot of time researching and thinking about what we wanted out of our relationship with them and what the needs of our dog would be. We started to really look into miniature schnauzers. That breed of dog was really the best fit. They have the energy and the spunk and wouldn’t get too big. We don’t know if Grimm is part schnauzer yet, but he definitely acts like one. We plan on doing a DNA test for him through Tampa Bay Vets, which is a newly offered service.  I think we made a good fit because he was still a puppy so we didn’t have to worry so much about his past as far as training and experiences. I already have larger rescue dogs that I got as adults that had troubled pasts and they are all seniors now and couch potatoes. While I enjoyed raising them, I was looking for a different experience and relationship with my new dog. I have always been an “adopt don’t shop” kind of person, so it kind of felt like a sign when I saw Grimm, especially since I first saw him on my actual birthday!”
