Pets with Asthma and Allergies
Learn more, visit out pet health library:
Yes, pets can develop asthma, though it’s more common in cats than dogs. Asthma in pets is usually caused by an allergic reaction that affects the airways, causing the bronchi to become inflamed and fill with mucus. The bronchi then contract and spasm, making it difficult for the pet to breathe.
The good news is that there are treatments for our sweet pets who suffer from asthma and allergies, many of which resemble the same treatment we would receive from our own doctors. Like steroids, inhalers, and allergy medications.
