PennHIP Imaging & JPS Surgery for Pet Hip Dysplasia

Hip dysplasia in pets can lead to a great deal of arthritic discomfort.  With younger dogs, surgical intervention through a new, minimally-invasive technique called JPS (Juvenile Pubic Symphysiodesis) can dramatically prevent the development of painful symptoms surrounding dysplasia.

In order to identify how progressed your pet’s hip dysplasia is, we use advanced PennHIP Imaging, which requires specific equipment and special veterinarian certification.   Using the PennHIP imaging provides us with better information than just an x-ray.  In addition to the bones, we can also identify the condition of the surrounding soft tissues, which factor into joint stability.  It’s just one more way Tampa Bay Vets goes the extra mile–because your pet deserves the very best!
