Questions & Answers

Our cat is nine years old and still has a very active spirit. What things can we do to try to make sure that she’s with us for another nine years?

This is a great age to be thinking about potential health concerns so that we may catch problems earlier rather than later.  Your girl certainly needs a thorough exam to evaluate for dental disease, heart murmurs, growths (internally or externally), weight issues, joint issues etc.  In addition, we usually run basic blood work to evaluate kidney and liver function, blood sugar, anemia, thyroid disorders….. There are many health issues which may be managed or resolved if caught early.  At home we encourage an indoor lifestyle, lots of stimulation, a high quality food and an appropriate body weight.

I hope this is helpful,
