Our dog is losing weight fast. He was sick for a few days, throwing up and diarrhea. Not sure if he has worms or not, but we want him to get checked out. Should we bring him in as soon as possible? or wait it out?

Your pet should be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible.  All of our hospitals have convenient evening and weekend hours.  Vomiting and diarrhea will lead to dehydration and can be rapidly fatal in small pets.  Although intestinal parasites are a potential cause of these signs, there are others.  Please bring a sample of your pet’s stool when you come for the evaluation so it can be tested for parasites.
