What product can I use for fleas on my cats? I don’t like the oil stuff thats put on the back of their head/neck. Can I use a flea collar?

We have 2 great oral options for flea management depending on your specific needs. Capstar is an oral tablet that kills fleas on the patient within 15-20 minutes but only lasts for 2 to 2&1/2 days for cats. This is an over-the-counter product and therefore does not require an exam for purchase. Comfortis is another oral tablet recently labeled for cats that takes approximately 1 day to take effect, then kills fleas within 15 – 20 minutes, and lasts for a month. Comfortis is a prescription product and does require a recent exam (minimally within the past year) to purchase.
