The Mood-boosting Power of Pets

Mental health has become a normal conversation for all of us, and we are so grateful for that. People are doing such a wonderful job checking in on one another and reaching out to others who may need someone to talk to.

With these challenging times, mental health has taken center stage, as the stress and uncertainty is getting to many of us. With so many medical professionals available to reach out to, there is also a huge help a lot of people may forget about – OUR PETS! Pets have evolved to become acutely attuned to us humans, our behavior, and emotions. Pets, especially dogs and cats, can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, ease loneliness, encourage exercise and playfulness, and even improve your cardiovascular health. A pet can add joy and unconditional love to your life.

We remain committed to caring for our patients and meeting their health care needs in the safest and best way possible. Be assured that we continue to follow CDC guidelines and federal, state and local recommendations for practicing social distancing. We have established a phased plan to resume normal services to see our patients for healthy pet exams, all procedures and surgeries and urgent care needs.
