Ask a Vet:
We often have requests for volunteering and are appreciative and flattered that there is such interest in our field and our practice.
We do not take volunteers because we have an extensive externship and internship program and there has to be a limit to the number of people physically present in our hospital for safety reasons.
Additionally, because we perform radiology, chemotherapy and work with all types of animals (not all well, happy or safe) we need any non-employee to be over the age of 18.
May we suggest looking into the Humane Society of Tampa Bay?
Thank you for your question.
