Questions & Answers

A neighborhood cat’s stomach has gotten hard and swollen over the last few weeks. What can I do?

Thank you for watching our for our homeless pet population.  Without seeing the cat, it would be difficult to say what is going on.  In general, when we see a swollen or enlarged abdomen we think about things like pregnancy, a blocked bladder, a mass in the abdomen, or an enlarged organ like the liver.  Regardless, most of these are emergencies and require immediate attention.  If you can capture the cat and bring it in to the hospital, we only charge $50 for an exam.  From there, the doctor can tell you what we need to do.  Call us at 813 988 1189.
