Happy Tails: The Story of Fergus

“Unbeknownst to me, Fergus swallowed a VERY long piece of string. After consistent vomiting, he lost all appetite and was very lethargic and unsteady on his feet. He became sick to the point of me being frantic with concern, worrying I was close to losing him.

I called ahead and rushed Fergus to The Cat Doctors. Following x-rays and bloodwork, he was quickly prepped for surgery. The procedure lasted 4.5 hours with multiple cuts to his little belly. Dr. Connolly has always been so wonderful about patiently taking the time to answer all my questions. In the two weeks that followed the procedure the whole team at The Cat Doctors was very diligent about checking in on Fergus’ status. I am so grateful to have such a devoted and empathetic team that care, not only about Fergus, but about me as a cat mama.

It has been almost 8 weeks since Fergus’ surgery and he is completely back to his old (young) self! He rushes over for meal times, wrestles with his sister, manipulates me into playing with him and jumps up onto counters (that he’s not allowed on). The incision has healed beautifully and his belly fur has mostly grown back. It is such a huge relief to his loving and feisty personality back once again.
