Happy Tails: The Story of Reggie

“Back in March, Reggie the cat became anorexic. He lost a lot of weight. He was not his normal self, he was very withdrawn. His breathing was EXTREMELY labored. Dr. Whitlow put the puzzle pieces together and diagnosed with wet FIP, which was affecting his lungs.
He underwent a thoracentesis where the Dr. Whitlow pulled 97cc of fluid off his lungs. He luckily keeps up with studies and has seen FIP like this before, mentioning the BOVA GS-441524 Formula. Dr. Whitlow knew about this treatment which was highly researched and used in the UK but newer to the US. We decided it was worth a try and would reevaluate after his first bottle.
I kid you not, the day after his first dose he started to eat and play again, acting so much like his normal self. When I tell you I had previously tried every brand, formula, and flavor of cat food to try to get this cat to eat SOMETHING. He ended up eating Publix popcorn chicken for a week prior to starting the BOVA. This truly is a MIRACLE drug. He went through 3 bottles, but it was worth every penny and was honestly cheaper than I was expecting for a life saving medication! Now I get to have my big orange for many years to come!
At his visit last week, his labs looked great and he has put on 3 lbs. in 3 months, which our vet, Dr. Whitlow, found impressive.
It was seriously traumatizing to watch Reggie get so sick so fast. This treatment is a miracle drug and I think more cat parents and people looking to adopt kittens should be aware of FIP and to know the signs of the different subtypes.
Dr. Whitlow literally saved my kids life and the everyone else at the Cat Doctors was so kind and helpful throughout the process. Thank you!”
Today, we are happy to say Reggie is back to his normal self. Some may say even better than before! He is a crazy orange that runs around, chasing his brother around, playing fetch, chasing lasers, hiding toys, and plenty gives of snuggles!
