Questions & Answers

I just got my first pet: a yorkie. I believe there are legal requirements for having a pet in Hillsborough County and because I am new at this, what are my first steps? She really needs grooming and I need to know what shots she needs. What are costs associated with services for her?

Congratulations on your new puppy Pepper!  Hillsborough county
requires your pet to have a current Rabies vaccine and licensed tag.
We can schedule Pepper for a grooming appointment with Sheryl.  She is
here on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and two Saturdays per
month.  We charge $47 for the grooming which includes shampoo, brush
out, full body hair cut of your choice, external anal gland
expression, sanitary clip, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and trimming
between the paw pads.  Pepper will need to be up to date on the
following vaccinations for grooming:

Rabies vaccine
Distemper/Parvo vaccine
Bordetella vaccine within the last 6 months
Influenza vaccine
Fecal Parasite Test to check for intestinal parasites
